Christmas has come early this year due to different work schedules with family members. We celebrated with Brad's
family in Quincy on Dec. 20th. It was fun this year to have Brett's
girlfriend there. Brad's grandma always does a good job of decorating and cooking. Breakfast was great! Today, Brad and I did Christmas with his parents at 1100am and then Christm
as with my family at 700pm. Ashley and I both have to work tomorrow morning, and then we will all be heading to Alabama. Brad will get to test out his new Tom-Tom(GPS) on the drive. I'm kinda excited about work tomorrow because I can wear holiday scrubs instead of my normal, boring uniform.

Back in the nest :)
Due to the house repairs, Brad and I are staying at my parents house. It's been alot of fun. Matthew's having a blast with us being here, he's thinks it's supposed to be a none stop party, lol! I've been riding to work with Dad, it's nice not to drive myself that early in the morning. Dad's also made me lunch for the last 2 days, which was much better than what I normally eat at work and healthier! Our air mattress is actually pretty comfortable, so no complaints :) Thank goodness today was Brad's last final, that stress on top of everything else was almost too much. I'm off for the weekend and intend to enjoy it! Tomorrow night we're going to a Christmas party for the hospital, then Saturday night is my dept's party. FUN, FUN, FUN!!!

Water, water everywhere
Well, we went from no water running to our house, to water running all over our house. We woke up Sunday morning to water overflowing from the wash machine (we're not placing any blame on our friends that gave us the washer, accidents happen) that is located upstaires. There was water in the upstaires hallway and both spare bedrooms. Upon traveling downstaires, we found that it was raining in the hall, bathroom, and dining room. Our new light fixture in the bathroom had become a water fall! Thank goodness we were given a surplus of towels when we got married, because we used them all! Basically, the only rooms not affected are our bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and half the living room. We called a company that brought in approx 15 heavy duty fans and dehumidifiers yesterday to dry things out. Today they are ripping apart the walls and floors to dry out the insides. We're still not sure of the extent of damage, but thank goodness for house insurance. Being a homeowner is so much fun!

Where has the water gone?
We had an exciting night last night. I arrived home from work to the washing machine making a weird noise. At first, we thought it was clogged, then we moved on to broken. Luckily it was neither of these, but our lovely well pump had decided to stop working :( That meant no water at all running to the house. Not fun! No showers, no washing clothes/dishes, flushing toilets, etc. Unfortunately, we have not yet started our storage of water for our 3 month supply, so we had to make a run to the store for jugs of water. Thankfully, we have been blessed with finding an excellent well service from back when we moved into our house. They arrived first thing this morning, and as I type, are working to replace our well pump. If you ever need well service the company is Mills Well's. I will be soo happy when we have water in the house again!

RedBoxing it up!!!
Brad and I made a new discovery this week at Wal-Mart, the RedBox machine! Another great idea that makes us go, why didn't we think of that? The RedBox is basically a vending machine for movies. $1 a day, plus tax, to rent some of the latest movies out. It's great! So long Blockbuster!

Free Hannah Overton
I wanted to bring attention to a case I saw on 2020 on ABC Friday night. I'm including the link so that ya'll can read about the details if interested. Hannah is a 30 year old mother of five who was convicted in September, 2007 of capital murder in the death of Andrew Burd, the four year old child that she and her husband Larry were adopting from the foster system. After seeing the show and reading the info on this web site, I don't believe that this woman is guilty. I believe she should be granted a re-trial.Go to this website and form your own opinion. If you want to help, info is provided. http://www.freehannah.com/

Food Storage

Brad and I bit the bullet this weekend and bought our three month supply of food storage. Sam's Club had some awesome deals on some of our favorite foods. We also found two good web sites to buy supplies from that we wanted to share with ya'll : http://www.frontiersurvival.net/
and http://honeyvillegrain.com/
Supposedly their powdered eggs and powdered milk taste like the real thing. We'll see :)

House pics
Here's some pics of our house as of now. These rooms haven't been painted yet, and the way the other rooms are going, it's going to be awhile before we get to them :) All in all, we're loving our new home! Oh, also one pic of my totally awesome Halloween tree that I made at craft night with Marquesas and Lamay. Trick-or-Treat!!!

Lovin the coolness!
What an experience moving was! We were greatly blessed to have so much great help with moving. Brad and I were greatly touched by the great friends and family that we have that gave up their Saturday to help us load and unload the U-Haul. The day started out with Brad and I having received the whopping total of 4 hours of sleep. Packing the "last little bit" turned out to take longer than we expected. Packing the U-Haul only took about an hour, we had so much help it was great! Then we arrived at our new home to find that the air conditioner to the house had been stolen! I was in shock! What kind of person would steal someone's air conditioner in Florida! I couldn't believe it! Since we couldn't prove when the AC was taken, Brad and I were responsible for replacing it, not the seller. That was a bummer! We spent a hot and sweaty weekend unpacking the house. Nights weren't so bad, it actually became kinda cold between the hours of 3-7am. Monday I had the joy of calling around AC companies while Brad dealt with the insurance company. Let me tell you the Harper Revell company is my new best friend. They were so sympathetic and were able to get a tech to our house within the hour(no extra charge). This is when we found out that only part of the AC unit, the cheap part, had been taken. Instead of $3000+, we were only looking at $400ish. WOOHOOO! I love having prayers answered. Then, the even better part happened this morning. They weren't supposed to received the part until this afternoon or tomorrow morning, but it came sooner and we received a knock on the door at 8:30am. I've never been so glad to be woken up early before. By 9am, we had cold air in the house!!! After 3 days and 3 nights of sweating, I am so, so , so greatful for the invention of air conditioning. Now I can all the boxes unpacked.

Goodbye First Ward :(
Today was our last Sunday in first ward. It's a weird feeling. Since we're staying in Tally, just moving to the other side of town, we know we will still see everyone occasionally, but it's sad knowing we won't be seeing them every Sunday. We really didn't get to say goodbyes after church, because Bradley was very teary and didn't want everyone to see him crying. It's hard on him to be leaving, this was his first family ward as a member, and he's close to so many families that have watched him grow up with their kids.So all first warders, know that we are going to miss you very much and are very glad that we have had the opportunity to establish friendships with ya'll. I especially loved having the opportunity to teach some of your children. My primary kids are so special and have such sweet spirits. Laura was my quiet one, who after a year still will only speak up in class by whispering in my ear her comment; Joseph, who can make anything into a very detailed story; Noah, who I think is the most competitive in the class whenever we play games; Jason, who always is so sweet and has the right answer ready; Justin, my reader, he always wants to read the stories and scriptures that are part of the lesson; Jordan, who started to come to church recently and last Sunday started volunteering to say a prayer; and last is Kaeleigh, who always wants to draw a picture after the lesson. I've had such a fun time teaching them and will miss them very much.

What hapened to caring about the customer?
One day I believe that Brad and I will actually be able to close on our house. Our original closing date was the end of July, that was then bumped to last Friday due to the sellers not having stuff ready and Tropical storm Fay. So today we were supposed to become homeowners. Well, thanks to the Jacksonville division of our bank, Wachovia, we are not going to be able to close until next week. According to our understanding, our loan just needs to be signed off by the processor, who if they wish, can take an entire week before they have to even look at the paperwork. So, even though the bank knew our closing date, they really don't care about us, the customer. What they need to do would take approx 1 hour and we would own our home. We have politely and assertively told them that several times today to no avail. When Brad tried to be transferred to the processor in charge of our loan, he was told that they didn't have a phone! Yeah right! We were then told that the soonest they were going to look at our loan will be Monday evening. I am just so upset at their attitude, due to the fact that we were assured that they were sitting on go and everything was ready to go for today. Thankfully, we have a wonderful landlady who is not going to kick us out onto the streets, and also that U-haul was very understanding about changing our reservation date without charging us. We're also thankful to our Realtor and loan officer in Tallahassee who have done everything in their power to have us close today. Whew! I feel a smidgen better after letting off some steam! We've had so many blessing with this house that I don't need to dwell on this negative. For example, my dad was cutting our grass last night (the selling bank had neglected lawn care and the grass was waist high in some places) and our neighbor-to-be came over with his lawn mower and started cutting the back yard. I'm so glad that we are going to have such an awesome neighbor(even though his grandkids are upset that we don't have any children for them to play with). I know everything is according to Heavenly Father's plan, and there's a reason this happened, so I'm going to try not to be so upset. I'm still going to file a complaint with Wachovia though.

Which Disney princess are you?
This was kinda fun to do :) I think it fits me.
You Are Pocahantas!

Free-spirited and wise. You have a strong passionate spirit that touches and changes all who know you. The wisdom and common sense that you have is really what guides you through life. Even so, you also have a very playful side that loves adventure and excitement.

Sharing TIme
So, on my second to last Sunday in First ward, it happens to be my classes turn to do our first sharing time. I'm excited, but nervous at the same time. Children can be a tough crowd sometimes. I came up with the idea(thanks to Heavenly Father for the inspiration) of a board game related to the Fourth Article of Faith. The theme for August is: I will show my faith in Jesus Christ by being baptized and confirmed. The game is basically the 4 steps in the article of faith, leading up to membership in the church. Depending on the space landed on, there are quotes and scriptures related to faith, repentance, baptism, and the Holy Ghost. The are also song spaces, and at the end we will sing The Church of Jesus Christ # 77 in the children's song book. Ya'll pray for me that it will go well! :)

Fay
Well as many of ya'll know, Tally( and the rest of Florida for that matter) has received a ton of rain over the last few days. Thankfully, Brad and I never lost power,(though even if we had, I was sitting pretty working at the hospital, which has a generator) but many of our family and friends did. Lake Ella is totally flooded almost up to Monroe Street. My family was flooded into their neighborhood for the weekend due to our "tiny" creek turning into a river that went across the road! Thankfully the only damage to our soon to be home was a fallen tree. I'm so
thankful that Heavenly Father was watching out and protecting us. This storm could definitely have been a lot worse.

Love the beach!!!
We're back from a trip to the beach. Many and much thanks to Lamay and Marquesas for the invite. We had soo much fun. Neither Brad or I had ever boogie boarded before, now we're addicted. We had a blast! The waves of the Atlantic were so much better than those of the Gulf. Forget St. George Island, we're heading to the East side of Florida from now
on. The drive wasn't bad

Breaking Dawn

Well, after 6 1/2 hrs of straight reading today, I finished Breaking Dawn. I'm happy with the way the series was ended. I won't write about any details for those of you just starting the series, but it was a seriously good ending. I was so excited this morning when I was called off from work, so that I could buy and read the book. I thought I was going to have to wait for Monday to get a copy.

House News
We just heard from our realtor and the bank selling the house has agreed to pay for the repairs needed. So we will be homeowners after all. Right now, the time line for the move will be toward the middle/end of August. I've got to start packing!

Twilight Saga

I just finished reading Eclipse, the third book in the Twilight Saga. I think this is my favorite book series ever! I feel like the characters are real and that I'm in the story with them. I'm so torn between Edward and Jacob for Bella. I have a feeling she will end up with Edward, but that makes me so sad for Jacob. If she does choose Jacob, will I feel the same for Edward? I don't know. With each book so far, I can't wait to read it, to see what happens, and then when I'm finished, I wish I had read slower. I can't wait to get a copy of the next book on Saturday. If any of ya'll haven't read these books, you need to start reading, because you are seriously missing out on an awesome story.

I highly dislike the chore of laundry
It's been awhile since I've bought new clothes. Well, last week I bought a new shirt/dress that's a lovely dark pink/red color. I completely forgot about washing it separate the first time, so now we have some items that from here on out will be light pink. I didn't even realize that I had put it in the wash with whites. Oh well!
Regarding the house, we are not going to be purchasing it. Repairs showed up in the inspections that we were not expecting, so it's a no go. So the good new of this is... we're not moving out of first ward anymore. Yay!

What a blessing!
I've been really frustrated with trying to get all of the house inspections lined up and completed. The company that was going to do our roof inspection never showed, and then after setting up the second appt stood us up again! I was so aggravated!. Anyway, we ended up using someone else, who came out today. I met him at the house, and the good new is the roof is good for the next 3-5 years. The even better news is that he didn't charge us for the inspection. He told me that today was his mercy mission day and that he had already done 3 jobs for free and didn't want to mess his record up by charging us. He's the sweetest man, semi-retired. This was such a testament to me on how Heavenly Fathers way is not always our way. If I had had my way, the first company would have shown up and we would be out $150 bucks. I definitely need to remember that everything happens for a reason and not to get angry or upset when I can't yet see the reason.

I thought this was supposed to be easy!
Whew, I thought making this blog would be easy. Boy was I wrong! Hopefully tomorrow, I will have time to sit down and make our page more of a Wonsch kinda style.
So the happy news of the week is that... Brad has finished all of his finals! YAY! I'm definitly glad that I don't have to deal with those anymore. I'm so, so , so happy to be done with school. Can't wait until Brad is there also.
We only have one more inspection to be done on the house, our interest rate was locked into today, and we've started packing. Things are moving right along. We're so excited to have our own home. We can't wait to make it our own.
